So this post is pictures and random facts I think you should all know about Lithuania. All these pictures have been taken from my phone - so don't be expecting artful bliss this time.
Fun facts.
- Don't smile at people, you will look like an idiot. And no one will smile back. (I catch myself smiling all the time and feel stupid.)
- Cashiers at the grocery store WILL ask you for exact change. If you don't have it.. too bad, they'll mutter things in Lithuanian.
- Do not whistle indoors (it calls the devil). My roommate stops me all the time for whistling.
- Don't make eye contact on the bus. Just don't.
- People swear that if a woman sits on the concrete here it will make her infertile. People SWEAR by it.
- People also swear by when there is a draft from a window and door being open you will get sick. Well I'm sick.. so maybe i'll start believing that one.
That's all I have so far. And here are really random pictures!

ReplyDeleteI was utterly amused with your comments on Lithuania... I don't know if I'd like the lack of friendly-ness and whistling.
ReplyDeleteyeah. it's weird.. but you kind of get used to it and keep to yourself. only i frequently find myself beaming from ear to ear to strangers I pass and then realize what I'm doing after I get a weird glare back.. oh well a smile won't kill em :]
ReplyDeleteHaha that's right. Keep smiling!
ReplyDeleteJust accidentally found your blog) I'm from Klaipeda but now I'm studying in UK, kinda strange to read someone's thoughts about my town :D
