I am completely at peace with being here.

It has been a week since I have arrived in Klaipeda.

I have learned a lot since I have arrived. Like, being content with being lonely. I'm not really that lonely, but sometimes the thought of home strikes my mind. The worst is when I hear the dog that lives right by the school barking and find myself convinced that it is Lincoln with my parents right around the corner. Overall I am completely at peace with being here. I really truly love it, and wish I could share with whoever reads this stupid blog. (and I am slowly meeting people and making friends. yay!)

There is something very peaceful about here. Walking around feels completely safe. Exploring downtown is wonderful (I really wish I had a slackline), I find a new treasure every time I go. The old cobblestone streets are just breathtaking (and really hard to walk on if you want to keep your ankles), and the canal that runs through old town is unlike anything us californians could imagine.

I am so glad I have taken advantage of this opportunity. Learning about the culture, being away from the culture I grew up in. There are so many things here I wish I could share with the people I love.

Pictures to come soon!

yours truly, paige

  1. I am so excited for each new day there. There is something that changes inside you when you are in a new country, and are able to slow down enough to take it all in. We often feel like we know so much, or we have seen or experienced so much... but there is so much to learn and experience. Take in each day as a gift.

I am glad that you are at peace. Often times people gripe about their circumstances during their time away, only realize it's not so bad, and in fact it's pretty awesome...but then it's over, and they have spent the majority of their time feeling sorry for themselves, and judging everything around them rather than learning, loving and taking it all in.

We miss you here. I am proud of my Paigey... appreciate the gift of life today.

    Love you
